Today was the day after exhibition, and I mostly spent my time researching into my lesson plans for the following week and thinking about what I would be doing. Since it's the week of the PARCC test, we're not sure how many students will be in the classroom at a time, so the lesson plans for the entire week are confusing. We're working around the confusing schedule so I could fit in an activity around the book they will be reading, and also setting up a presentation of research I've been doing on movement teaching.
I also went on safari and looked into other teacher's classrooms. I observed their class, how they got the attention of the students, how they engaged with them, and what they had set up in their classrooms such as a calendar of the month's plans, new or old student work, and project relevant posters or decorations. I also observed their organizational methods. I learned plenty about how teachers work, and how everyone develops their own style related to their personality. I thought it was super interesting how everyone is very diverse in their personalities and teaching styles, but still are excellent educators. I'm curious as to how I would be as a teacher personality.
